Bob Hope Airport
The Bob Hope Airport encompasses 610 acres of land, northwest of Burbank. Built in 1930 as United Airport, it provided commercial air service to the Los Angeles area. In 1946, Lockheed purchased the airport and renamed it Lockheed Air Terminal. The airport was renamed two additional times, until 2003, when it was named in honor of comedian Bob Hope, a long-time resident of Toluca Lake.
Passengers choose non-stop, direct and connecting flights from its six commercial airlines. The airport's two terminals feature a variety of shops, restaurants, free Fi-Fi internet access, convenient parking and rental car agencies. While waiting for a flight, stroll through the Airport History Exhibit, the P-38 Exhibit or the Lockheed Stealth Aircraft Display. After a long flight, check into a convenient Best Western guest room, to enjoy a wonderful night's rest.
