John Muir National Historic Park
The John Muir National Historic Park encompasses 325 acres of land near Martinez in the San Francisco Bay area. The park was established in 1964 and preserves the Muir Mansion, built in 1883. John Muir, well-known naturalist and conservationist, lived in the house from 1890, until his death in 1914. Be sure to browse the Museum Collections Exhibit to view the photographs and Muir's personal belongings.
Visit the park today to enjoy a 30-minute, guided or self-guided tour of the first floor of the mansion.
