Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front NHP
See some World War II history in the Bay. The Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park is a historical area in Richmond overlooking the San Francisco Bay Area near San Francisco. The park and memorial honors the "Rosies," a name given to the women who worked at the shipyards during the war.
The park also honors the legacy of the home front wartime efforts in the United States, especially including the contribution of African-American and other minorities. Today, visitors can take a self-guided audio tour in the restored Ford building, enjoy views of the bay, and more.
