Cal Berkeley Fields Top Shelf Atheletics
Set within the San Francisco bay area of California, the University of California, commonly known as Cal, or Berkeley, was established in 1868, making it one of California’s oldest schools. Visitors from nearby cities like Oakland, Danville, and Concord all make their way into the Berkeley during the fall for exciting Pac-12 football games. Visit California Memorial Stadium and be one of nearly 63,000 Golden Bear fans who pack the stadium on game day to watch the Cal compete.
During winter and early spring, head to Haas Pavilion and watch as the Golden Bears basketball, both men’s and women’s, battle the rest of the Pac-12. Whether you’re traveling in from nearby San Francisco, Tracy, or even Livermore, plan for the bounce passes, alley oops, and swats of Cal Golden Bears basketball.
Spring and summer months yield excellent college baseball at Evans Diamond, home field of the Cal Golden Bears baseball team. With a long, storied history, Cal Baseball, winners of two national championships, is a source of pride, entertainment, and tourism, as people from all the state visit Berkeley to watch – from as nearby as Hayward, or as far east as Modesto.
