2013 Oyster Festival
Local restaurants, chefs and caterers prepare oysters in every way imaginable at the Arcata Plaza in downtown Arcata. Try them roasted, barbecued, fried, on the half shell, on pizza or in a host of other creative ways from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M.
2013 Redwood Run
Three days of camping, live music, games and shows at The Kiwanis of the Redwoods at Riverview Ranch in Piercy. The fun starts at 10 A.M. Friday.
2013 World's Largest Salmon BBQ
Held to benefit salmon restoration causes, the event provides salmon, salad, corn, beer and wine to vistors at Noyo Harbor in Fort Bragg. The grills get cooking at 11 A.M.
Mendocino Music Festival
The 27th annual event will bring performers of a wealth of different musical genres – from big band, dance, and pop to blues, jazz and folk – to Tent Concert Hall at Mendocino Headlands in Mendocino.
California Wine Month 2013
In its ninth year, the celebration is held at wineries all around the state. Visitors can expect special tastings and tours and dozens of other ways to celebrate throughout California's regions.
2013 Apple Harvest Festival
A citywide celebration of history, family and farming, the event offers apple and cider tastings along with pie sales, a barbecue and live music at Rhoner Park in Fortuna. The free fun starts at 10 A.M.
California's Shasta Cascade Region Events
Wesak Celebration 2013
Taking place at Sisson Middle School in Mt. Shasta, the three-day event's focus this year is "Year One of the New Earth: Building a Template for the Age of Aquarius."
2013 Ribs, Rods & Rides Hot Air Balloon Festival
Featuring tethered hot air balloon rides, hot rod displays and a barbecue cook-off, the event is hosted by Rolling Hills Casino in Corning. Early risers can catch a hot air balloon ride at sunrise.
July 4th Celebration and Street Fair
The streets of Mt. Shasta will fill with vendors, food, art and entertainment along with traditional Fourth of July fun. It all starts Thursday the 4th at 1:30 P.M.
Stewart Summer Music Series
The music of spirited new age groups Shasta View and Humo Maya will set the scene at Stewart Mineral Springs, west of Mt. Shasta. This early morning event starts at 5 A.M. and food and beverage tastings are included with admission.
Mount Shasta Summit Century
Cyclists of all experience levels tackle their choice of a metric century, half century or super century on the the West's "prettiest, hardest" courses. Rides start and finish in downtown Mt. Shasta.
Siskiyou Golden Fair
The Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds in Yreka host traditional county fair fun to promote agricultural awareness.
