California's Olive City, Corning, is bisected by Interstate 5 in the Shasta Cascade region. A delightful small town with big annual events – don't miss Olive Festival in August, May Madness Car Show or the holiday Hometown Christmas in November. For young wranglers the Corning Jr Rodeo is held in June at Estil Clark Park.

Corning is the heart of Tehama County olive production – be sure to visit the Olive Hut or Olive Pit for a tasting. Visit Woodson Bridge State Park and Recreation Area nearby on the Sacramento River for outdoor fun. Facilities include a boat launch ramp, a great beach and miles of trails. Make the drive into nearby Chico and check out the Chico Museum or tour the campus Chico State University.
