California's Death Valley
Living Large at Death Valley National Park
Death Valley National Park
For a little introduction to the Death Valley National Park before you get started, visit the Furnace Creek Visitor Center & Museum, the Borax Museum, or the Scotty's Castle Visitor Center.
Although spring is the most popular season in Death Valley, this national is open throughout the year in California's Sierra Nevada region.
One of the best ways to explore the vast Death Valley National Park is through a guided tour with a park ranger. Enjoy paleontology tours, and tours of Lower Vine Ranch – the former residence of Death Valley Scotty.
Need to explore on your own? Death Valley’s hiking season is from October through April, featuring constructed trials like the four-mile Gower Gulch Loop and the seven-mile Telescope Peak Trail – or no trail at all if you’re really adventurous.
Backpacking, biking, and bird watching is also available to travelers of Death Valley. Backcountry road welcome all terrain vehicles, while mountain bikers are encouraged to hit the 785 miles of roads throughout the park. Stay on your bike for more trails like the eight-mile Trial Canyon Road, or the 27-mile Racetrack Road.
