Muir Woods National Monument

Muir Woods was declared a National Monument by President Roosevelt in 1908 and is named after John Muir, a naturalist who was instrumental in establishing the National Park System.

The Coast Redwood average between 500 to 800 years old, with the tallest tree in the Monument measuring at 258 feet. Stop by the visitor center to find information on the 6 miles of hiking trails. Point Reyes National Seashore

Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front NHP

The Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park is a historical area in Richmond overlooking the San Francisco Bay Area near San Francisco. The park and memorial honors the "Rosies," a name given to the women who worked at the shipyards during the war.

The park also honors the legacy of the home front wartime efforts in the United States, especially including the contribution of African-American and other minorities. Today, visitors can take a self-guided audio tour in the restored Ford building, enjoy views of the bay, and more.
