Grauman's Chinese Theatre
A Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, the Grauman's Chinese Theatre is famed tourist attraction in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Located in Hollywood along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater was built in 1926 along Hollywood Boulevard.
The Chinese Theatre is home to the famed courtyard featuring over 200 concreted handprints, footprints, and autographs of actors beginning in the 1920s. An operating indoor movie theater, Grauman's Chinese Theatre offers daily, 20-minute walking tours and Grauman’s Ballroom.
Greystone Park
With beautiful manicured grounds, Historic Greystone Mansion is a delightful respite from the urban excitement of Los Angeles. Greystone Mansion is open only for special events, however the park grounds are open daily unless otherwise reserved.
Grab a picnic lunch and head up Loma Vista Dr for a stroll through two of the public areas on the grounds. Greystone Mansion is a registered historical landmark surrounded by over 18 acres of parkland. Griffith Observatory

Make time for plenty of fun in the City of Angels. Visit one of the city's popular attractions, the Griffith Observatory, for a great day of science and space exploration. This wonderful observatory located on the south side of Mount Hollywood, has been a Los Angeles landmark since it was dedicated in 1935. It was built from the vision of Griffith Jenkins Griffith, on the site of Griffith Park, established in 1896. Throughout the years, the observatory has become a well-known leader in public astronomy and remains one of the world's premier public observatories. The observatory and the surrounding park are a popular community gathering place.
Enjoy the view through the observatory's original 12-inch Zeiss refracting telescope and take your time through the Hall of the Eye exhibit. Visit as often as you like, since admission to the Observatory and the grounds are free. Parking is free too. Be sure to view the shows at the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, for a nominal fee.
To avoid city traffic on the weekends, make your way to the Vermont/Sunset Metro Red Line Station and ride the DASH Weekend Observatory Shuttle to the observatory. The shuttle rides are offered all day long. The Griffith Observatory is operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the City of Los Angeles. Stay close to the observatory and the variety of Los Angeles attractions, as a guest of one of the local Best Western hotels.
Hollywood Bowl
Opened in 1922, the Hollywood Bowl is a major performing arts center in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Located in Hollywood within sight of the Hollywood sign, the bowl sits 18,000 people – making it the country’s largest natural amphitheater.
Set in the Hollywood Hills, the bowl is home to the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and hosts the Los Angeles Philharmonic during the summer months. Recently renovated in 2003, the Hollywood Bowl hosts music festivals, seasonal celebrations, and major film premiers.

Hollywood Park Racetrack first opened in 1938 with 600 shareholders, including famous directors, stars and producers of the Hollywood film industry. The legendary horse Seabiscuit won the track's first Hollywood Gold Cup in 1938 and in 1940. Visit the racetrack from the middle of April through the middle of July for exciting live horse races. Simulcast racing is available year-round.

Walk of Fame

Southern California area residents and visitors, have plenty of places to see and things to do in sunny Los Angeles. Hollywood Boulevard features the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one of the most famous attractions in the Hollywood area. E.M. Stuart, a former president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, thought of the idea for the Walk of Fame, in 1953.
By 1960, the first stars were laid on the sidewalk. The stars are engraved with names of a variety of honorees in five categories: motion pictures, television, music, radio and live performance. The motion pictures category has the majority of the honorees.
Grab your camera to check out the coral pink terrazzo and brass five-point stars, embedded into the Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street sidewalks.
