Stockton Metropolitan Airport
Stockton Metropolitan Airport, located southeast of Stockton, is a civil airport used for commercial and general aviation service. During World War II, the Stockton Army Airfield was built at the Stockton Municipal Airport and used as a training airfield, for the 68th Air Base Group. It remained a U.S. Army hub through the end of the war. This 1,449-acre airport was used once again for commercial flights and general aviation.
Throughout the years, several commercial airlines have offered flights at Stockton, including United Airlines, PSA/USAir, Frontier/Continential and Southwest Airlines. Allegiant Airlines has recently begun providing commercial flight service. Terminal amenities include dining, commercial truck rentals and several fixed base operators for general aviation needs.
