Known as CDMOD, the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert is a children’s center first established in 1986, and is set in California’s desert region. Located between Palm Desert and Palm Springs, CDMOD is open daily from January to April, and Tuesdays through Sunday throughout the year.
CDMOD showcases interactive and educational exhibits such as "Science Rules" and "Art is Versatile." There are even exhibits for smaller children and toddlers in the “For the Littlest Ones” exhibit.
Previously the Living Desert Museum, the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a botanical garden and zoo located in southern California’s desert region. Initially founded in 1970 as a 360-acre wilderness preserve, this public garden and zoo is set between Palm Springs and Palm Desert.

Palm Springs International Airport was developed in 1939 as a United States Army Corps emergency landing field. In 1942, a new Palm Springs airfield was built a mile-an-a-half from the original location and named Palm Springs Army Airfield. The 560th Army Air Forces Base Unit used the airfield to train in navigation and long-distance over-water flying. In 1964, the airport was renamed to Palm Springs Municipal Airport and began to offer commercial flights.
