The Bob Hope Airport encompasses 610 acres of land, northwest of Burbank. Built in 1930 as United Airport, it provided commercial air service to the Los Angeles area. In 1946, Lockheed purchased the airport and renamed it Lockheed Air Terminal. The airport was renamed two additional times, until 2003, when it was named in honor of comedian Bob Hope, a long-time resident of Toluca Lake.

Currently located in the Portal of the Folded Wings south of Burbank's Bob Hope Airport, make a visit and support the history of aviation in Burbank.
A popular Southern California attraction, Griffith Observatory is located on the south side of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. A well-known leader in public astronomy, the observatory is a Los Angeles icon and, along with the park, a community gathering place.
Griffith Observatory is operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the City of Los Angeles and admission to the Observatory and grounds are free. Shows at the Samuel Oschin Planetarium have a nominal fee. Take advantage of weekend shuttles and avoid traffic issues - shuttles leave from the Vermont / Sunset Metro Station every 35 minutes.
The Leonis Adobe Museum, located near Los Angeles, was the home of "the King of Calabasas", Leonis Adobe. Tour this 150-year-old home, with its original buildings, to see what life on the ranch was like in the late 1800s. In 1962, the ranch was saved from demolition and declared the first Historic Cultural Monument in Los Angeles. The museum's artifacts include laundry washboards, the horno oven, wagons and several pieces of farm equipment.
While visiting the ranch, also tour the historic Plummer House. It was moved from Plummer Park in West Hollywood, to the ranch property in 1983.
