Loyola Marymount University
Loyola Marymount University, located near Marina Del Rey, is a Roman Catholic university with Jesuit and Marymount traditions. Loyola University, first established in 1911, achieved University status in 1930. It merged with Marymount College in 1973, after five years of sharing buildings. The 142-acre campus is home to more than 8,500 undergraduate, graduate and law school students.
The Loyola Law School was established in 1920 and occupies a separate campus west of downtown Los Angeles. Loyola Marymount University remains one of the largest Roman Catholic Universities in the Western United States.
