Just outside of Edwards Air Force Base you'll find Mojave. A friendly city in the Central Valley, Mojave as an eclectic feel to it – cat lovers of all ages will enjoy a trip to the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound. Known as the "Cat House", the compound is home to over 70 of the world's most endangered felines including leopards, fishing cats, jaguars, and cougars.

Mojave has a rich aerospace history and is home to the Mojave Spaceport – the location of the launch of SpaceShipOne – the first private spaceflight. Nearby cities like Tehachapi and California City yield easy visits to the Ghost Towns of Johannesburg and Randsburg.
