Just west of the El Dorado National Forest you'll find Placerville. Scenic and charming, Placerville is a destination-worthy city in the California's Gold Country, just outside of Sacramento. nicknamed "Dry Diggin's" because of its dry, rough land, Placerville is known for vibrantly flavorful wines. Harvested in the high elevations of the Sierra Nevada, Placerville wineries include Crystal Basin, and Granite Springs.

For a delicious piece of Placerville history visit John Pearson Soda Works and Fountain Tallman Soda Works. John Pearson is currently an established coffee house, but in it's original day it was transformed from a ice house to a mining shaft, then into a Coca-Cola bottling Franchise. The Fountain Tallman today is a museum, but was once a Soda House.
