Rich in History, San Simeon Awaits Your Visit

Set just off of State Route 1, San Simeon is a sea-side tourist attraction located almost directly in between San Fransisco and Los Angeles, and is best known for the Hearst Castle built by William Randolph Hearst in the 20th century.

San Simeon is truly a destination fit for the outdoor enthusiast. If you like fishing, head over to William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach and cast out - no state fishing license required. Hikers will enjoy a day at the Hearst San Simeon State Park, or visit the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse - open to the public with guided-tours available. Many visitors also enjoy a trip to the Hearst Castle, which is also home to the National Geographic Theater which features Hearst Castle: Building the Dream.
